We Won the Nagao Award from the Asia-Pacific Association for Machine Translation (AAMT)!

Mirai Translate Co.,Ltd. received the 11th annual Nagao Award from the Asia-Pacific Association for Machine Translation (AAMT).

The Nagao award was established when Makoto NAGAO, a co-founder of AAMT, was given the Japan Prize. The recipients of the Nagao award are individuals or groups who have contributed to research and development leading to or facilitating commercialization of machine translation systems.

This prize validates our development of a machine translation platform that integrates both “Rule-based Machine Translation (RBMT)” and “Statistical Machine Translation (SMT)” as well as our realization of B2B business.

We have been promoting products and solutions that combine SYSTRAN Enterprise Server, boasting impressive RBMT quality among Western languages, with powerful Japanese SMT engines from the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), along with our own products.
We will continue to make innovations to break down language barriers by combining our technology with other natural language processing techniques.

The aim of the AAMT Nagao Award
“The Nagao Award is given in recognition of individuals or groups who have contributed to research and development leading to or facilitating commercialization of machine translation systems. The Nagao Award differs from academic awards given for papers or presentations; it is awarded, for example, for contributions to the commercialization of high performance machine translation systems, for the launch of new services utilizing machine translation systems, and so on. At the same time, however, the award of course does not exclude research results that also have academic significance.”
